Käänteistransformaatio refers to the inverse transformation in mathematics, a concept fundamental to understanding how operations can be undone. In essence, a transformation that maps a set of elements from one space to another can have an inverse transformation if it is bijective, meaning it is both injective (one-to-one) and surjective (onto). The inverse transformation, if it exists, maps elements back from the second space to the original space, precisely reversing the action of the original transformation.

For example, in linear algebra, a matrix transformation is invertible if and only if the matrix is non-singular (its determinant is non-zero). If a matrix A represents a transformation, its inverse matrix A⁻¹ represents the inverse transformation.
