Käskymood
Käskymood is a term used in the field of linguistics and language education to describe a specific grammatical mood in the Estonian language. It is one of the four moods in Estonian, along with indicative, conditional, and potential. The käskymood is used to express commands, requests, or suggestions. It is formed by adding the suffix -gu to the base form of the verb. For example, the verb "minema" (to go) in käskymood becomes "mingu." This mood is particularly useful in everyday communication, as it allows speakers to give clear and direct instructions or make polite requests. The käskymood is distinct from the imperative mood found in many other languages, as it does not require the use of a separate imperative form of the verb. Instead, it uses the same verb form as the indicative mood, with the addition of the -gu suffix. This makes it a unique feature of the Estonian language and an important aspect of its grammar.
