Kuvaputkiin

Kuvaputkiin is a Finnish word that translates to "picture tube" in English. It refers to a type of cathode ray tube (CRT) used in older television sets and computer monitors. The term is derived from the Finnish words "kuva," meaning picture, and "putki," meaning tube. Kuvaputkiin operates by using an electron beam to create images on a phosphorescent screen. The electron beam is directed by magnetic fields to scan the screen line by line, creating the image. This technology was widely used in the mid-20th century but has since been largely replaced by more modern display technologies such as liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Despite its obsolescence, kuvaputkiin holds historical significance as a pioneering technology in the development of visual display systems.
