Kuumutuskõver
Kuumutuskõver, also known as a heating curve, is a graphical representation of the temperature of a substance as heat is added to it over time. It typically plots temperature on the y-axis and time or heat added on the x-axis. When a solid is heated, its temperature increases until it reaches its melting point. At this point, the temperature remains constant while the substance absorbs energy to transition from a solid to a liquid. This plateau in the heating curve signifies a phase change. Once all the solid has melted, the temperature of the liquid begins to rise again until it reaches its boiling point. Similar to melting, the temperature remains constant at the boiling point as the liquid transforms into a gas. After all the liquid has vaporized, the temperature of the gas will continue to increase with further heat input. The slopes of the curve represent the specific heat capacities of the substance in its different phases, with steeper slopes indicating lower specific heat. The plateaus represent the latent heat of fusion (melting) and latent heat of vaporization (boiling), which are the amounts of energy required for these phase transitions at constant temperature. Understanding heating curves is fundamental in thermodynamics and various scientific and engineering applications, including material science and chemical processes.
