Kompressorijäädytys
Kompressorijäädytys, also known as vapor-compression refrigeration, is a widely used method for cooling. It relies on a thermodynamic cycle that involves a refrigerant. The cycle begins with the refrigerant in a liquid state entering a compressor. The compressor increases the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant. From the compressor, the high-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant gas flows to a condenser. Here, it releases heat to the surroundings and changes into a high-pressure liquid. This liquid then passes through an expansion valve, where its pressure and temperature drop significantly. Finally, the low-pressure, low-temperature refrigerant enters an evaporator. In the evaporator, the refrigerant absorbs heat from the space being cooled, causing it to evaporate into a low-pressure gas. This gas then returns to the compressor, completing the cycle. This process continuously removes heat, thereby lowering the temperature of the desired space. Kompressorijäädytys is fundamental to refrigerators, air conditioners, and many industrial cooling applications.
