Kokojärjestykseen is a Finnish term that translates to "in order of quantity" or "in decreasing order" when referring to a sequence of numbers or items. It describes an arrangement where the largest value or item is placed first, followed by progressively smaller ones. This is a common method of sorting, particularly in statistical contexts or when presenting data that needs to be analyzed from most significant to least significant.

The opposite of kokojärjestykseen is "nouseva järjestys" or "ascending order," which arranges items from smallest to largest. Understanding the direction of the order is crucial for correctly interpreting data sets, lists, and rankings.

For example, if a list of temperatures for a week were presented in kokojärjestykseen, the hottest day's temperature would be listed first, and the coldest day's temperature would be listed last.
