Kohdunkomiteen
Kohdunkomiteen, also known as the Municipal Council, is a local government body responsible for the administration and governance of municipalities in Finland. Each municipality has its own Kohdunkomiteen, which is elected by the residents of that municipality. The council's primary role is to make decisions on local matters, such as urban planning, public services, and environmental protection. It also oversees the work of the municipal executive, known as the municipal board, which is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the municipality. The Kohdunkomiteen meets regularly to discuss and vote on various issues, and its decisions are binding on the municipal board. The council is composed of members who represent different political parties, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives in decision-making. The term of office for Kohdunkomiteen members is typically four years, after which new elections are held. The council plays a crucial role in shaping the local community and addressing the needs and concerns of its residents.
