KleinVenedig

KleinVenedig, meaning "Little Venice" in German, is a district within the city of Passau, Germany. It is located on the eastern bank of the Danube River, near where the Inn and Ilz rivers converge with the Danube, forming the "Dreiflüssestadt" or "City of Three Rivers." This area is characterized by its narrow, picturesque streets and colorful buildings, reminiscent of the canals and architecture found in Venice, Italy, which gives it its name.

Historically, KleinVenedig was a residential area for river workers and fishermen. The proximity to the rivers meant that many houses were built on stilts or had foundations designed to withstand occasional flooding. This unique architectural style, combined with its waterfront location, contributes to its charming and distinctive atmosphere. Today, it remains a popular spot for both locals and tourists to stroll, enjoy the views of the rivers, and experience a quieter, more historic side of Passau.
