Kimerna
Kimerna, also known as Kimmeria, was an ancient kingdom located in the northern Pontic steppe, roughly corresponding to modern-day southern Ukraine and northern Crimea. It was one of the earliest known states in the region, emerging around the 8th century BC. The Kimmerians were a nomadic people, known for their horsemanship and military prowess. They are most famous for their invasion of Greece in 654 BC, which led to the destruction of the city of Miletus and the establishment of the Persian Empire under Cyrus the Great. The Kimmerians were eventually assimilated into the Scythian culture, and their name fell into obscurity. The Kimmerian kingdom is a significant historical figure in the study of the early Iron Age and the migration of peoples in the Eurasian steppe.
