Kiinteistökaupat

Kiinteistökaupat refers to the legal transaction of buying and selling real estate in Finland. This process involves the transfer of ownership of immovable property, such as land and buildings. The key elements of a kiinteistökauppa include a binding agreement, typically a written purchase agreement signed by both the buyer and seller. This agreement must clearly define the property, the purchase price, the payment terms, and the closing date.

Before finalizing the purchase, buyers are strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence. This may involve obtaining a property survey, checking for any encumbrances or easements on the property, and verifying zoning regulations. A crucial part of the process is obtaining financing, which often requires pre-approval from a bank.

The transfer of ownership is formally registered with the Finnish Land Register (Maanmittauslaitos). This registration ensures legal protection for the new owner and makes the ownership transfer public record.
