Khaleeds

Khaleeds are a group of ancient stone structures found in the Sahara Desert, primarily in the region of the Tassili n'Ajjer in Algeria. These structures are notable for their unique design and the theories surrounding their purpose and origin. The Khaleeds consist of several large stone circles, each containing a central stone pillar surrounded by smaller stones. The largest of these structures, known as the "Great Circle," has a diameter of approximately 100 meters and is surrounded by 36 smaller stones.

The exact purpose of the Khaleeds remains unknown, but several theories have been proposed. Some researchers suggest that they may have been used for astronomical observations, while others propose that they were part of a complex religious or ceremonial site. The structures are believed to have been constructed between 2000 BCE and 1000 BCE, during the period known as the Iron Age in the Sahara.
