Keverékekre is a term in chemistry referring to mixtures. A mixture is a substance comprising two or more components not chemically bonded. These components can be elements or compounds. Unlike compounds, the components of a mixture retain their individual properties and can often be separated by physical means, such as filtration, distillation, or evaporation.

Mixtures are broadly classified into two types: homogeneous and heterogeneous. In a homogeneous mixture, also known as a solution, the composition is uniform throughout. The components are indistinguishable even under a microscope. Examples include saltwater, air, and sugar dissolved in water. In contrast, a heterogeneous mixture has a non-uniform composition. The different components are clearly visible and can be easily separated. Examples include sand and water, oil and vinegar, or a salad.

The ratio of components in a mixture can vary widely. For instance, you can have a dilute salt solution or a concentrated one, both being solutions. The physical properties of a mixture, such as boiling point or melting point, are typically intermediate between those of its individual components and are not fixed values as they are for pure compounds. Understanding mixtures is fundamental in chemistry as many substances encountered in daily life and in scientific research are mixtures.
