Kasutusväetised
Kasutusväetised, often translated as "fertilizers" or "manures" in English, are substances or materials added to soil or plants to supply essential nutrients that are deficient in the soil. These nutrients are vital for plant growth, development, and yield. Kasutusväetised can be broadly categorized into organic and inorganic types. Organic fertilizers are derived from natural sources such as compost, manure, bone meal, and plant matter. They improve soil structure, water retention, and microbial activity in addition to providing nutrients. Inorganic fertilizers, also known as synthetic or chemical fertilizers, are manufactured through industrial processes. They typically contain concentrated amounts of specific nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which are often expressed as N-P-K ratios. The application of kasutusväetised is a common agricultural practice aimed at enhancing crop productivity and quality. However, overuse or improper application can lead to environmental issues such as water pollution through nutrient runoff and soil degradation. Therefore, understanding the specific nutrient needs of crops and applying fertilizers judiciously are crucial aspects of sustainable agriculture.
