Kaitsejõududes is the Estonian term for the Estonian Defence Forces, the unified armed forces of Estonia. Its primary mission is to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Estonia and to participate in international security operations. The Defence Forces consist of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Defence League.

The Estonian Army is responsible for land operations, including ground combat, defense, and support for civil authorities. The Estonian Navy focuses on maritime security, coastal defense, and ensuring freedom of navigation in Estonian waters. The Estonian Air Force provides air defense, reconnaissance, and transport capabilities. The Defence League is a voluntary paramilitary organization that supplements the regular forces, providing a reserve of trained personnel and supporting national defense efforts.

Estonia is a member of NATO and actively participates in collective defense initiatives. The Defence Forces are structured to be a modern, professional, and capable military, emphasizing interoperability with allied forces. Conscription is part of the defense system, ensuring a trained reserve force. The Defence Forces are governed by the Ministry of Defence and are under the command of the Commander of the Defence Forces. Their role extends to disaster relief and other national emergencies.
