Kadazanspeaking

Kadazanspeaking is a term used to describe the unique linguistic variety spoken by the Kadazan-Dusun people, one of the largest ethnic groups in Sabah, Malaysia. It is a member of the Kadazan family of languages, which is part of the Austronesian language phylum. The Kadazan-Dusun people are known for their rich cultural heritage and have a strong presence in the political and economic landscape of Sabah.

The language is characterized by its complex system of honorifics, which is a feature shared with other Austronesian languages. This system reflects the hierarchical nature of Kadazan-Dusun society and is used to show respect and deference to elders and superiors. Kadazanspeaking is not mutually intelligible with other Kadazan languages, such as Dusun and Bajau, which are spoken by other ethnic groups in Sabah. This linguistic diversity adds to the rich tapestry of languages spoken in Malaysia, reflecting the country's multicultural heritage.
