Käänteissuuruus is a Finnish term that translates to "inverse" or "reciprocal" in English, most commonly encountered in mathematics. It refers to a number which, when multiplied by a given number, results in the multiplicative identity, which is 1. For any non-zero number x, its multiplicative inverse is denoted as 1/x or x⁻¹.

For example, the käänteissuuruus of 5 is 1/5, because 5 multiplied by 1/5 equals 1. Similarly, the käänteissuuruus of 1/3 is 3, as (1/3) * 3 = 1.
