Jülich
Jülich is a town located in the western part of Germany, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It lies in the district of Düren, close to the border with the Netherlands. The town is situated on the Rur river, a tributary of the Meuse. Historically, Jülich was the capital of the Duchy of Jülich, a significant territory in the Holy Roman Empire. This historical importance is reflected in its name, which gave rise to the region known as the Jülich-Cleves-Berg.
