Jinwons

Jinwons refers to the plural form of jinwon. A jinwon was a unit of currency used in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty. The name itself derives from the Chinese characters for "silver" (銀, jin) and "won" (圓, won), reflecting its silver-based backing.

Historically, the value of jinwons fluctuated and was subject to government regulation. Various denominations existed, and their circulation and acceptance varied over time and across regions. The introduction and management of jinwons were integral to the economic policies of the Joseon government, influencing trade, taxation, and the overall financial system of the era.
