Jülich is a town located in the western part of Germany, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is situated in the Rur valley, near the Dutch border and the city of Aachen. The town's history dates back to Roman times, when it was known as Juliers. It later became the seat of the Counts of Juliers, who played a significant role in the Holy Roman Empire.
