Jáchymov
Jáchymov is a spa town located in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. Situated in the Ore Mountains, the town is historically known for its silver mining and, more recently, for its uranium mining and therapeutic radon baths. The discovery of silver in the early 16th century led to rapid growth and the town was granted royal mining town status. During the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Jáchymov became a significant source of wealth.
