Ithaki

Ithaki, also spelled Ithaca, is a Greek island located in the Ionian Sea, off the northeast coast of Kefalonia. It is famously known as the mythical homeland of Odysseus, the hero of Homer's epic poem, the Odyssey. The island is characterized by its rugged terrain, steep cliffs, and numerous coves. Its capital and main port is Vathy, a picturesque town nestled within a deep, natural harbor.

Archaeological evidence suggests human settlement on Ithaki dates back to the Neolithic period. During the Mycenaean era, the island is believed to have been a significant trading center.
