Intermetakarpaler

Intermetakarpaler refers to the space or region located between the metacarpal bones of the hand. The metacarpal bones are the five long bones that form the palm of the hand, connecting the wrist bones (carpals) to the finger bones (phalanges). Specifically, there are four intermetakarpaler spaces, each situated between adjacent metacarpal bones. These spaces are important anatomical landmarks and are clinically relevant in various medical contexts, including surgery and imaging. The first intermetakarpaler space is located between the first and second metacarpals (thumb and index finger sides), the second between the second and third, the third between the third and fourth, and the fourth between the fourth and fifth metacarpals (little finger side).
