Impedanzabgleich, also known as impedance matching, is a technique used in electrical engineering to maximize the power transfer between a source and a load. It is particularly important in applications involving signal transmission, such as radio frequency circuits and audio systems. When the impedance of the source is equal to the complex conjugate of the impedance of the load, the maximum amount of power is delivered from the source to the load. If the impedances are not matched, some of the signal will be reflected back towards the source, leading to signal loss and potential damage to the source.
