IHSG

The Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) is the main stock market index of Indonesia. It tracks the overall performance of all shares listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

The IHSG is a market capitalization–weighted index calculated by the IDX. It includes all listed companies on the exchange, with components adjusted as companies list, delist, or undergo corporate actions. The index is published daily in points and uses a base value of 100 at its origin.

Because it covers the broad market, the IHSG is widely used as a benchmark for Indonesian equity performance. It is referenced by media, investment funds, and analysts to gauge market sentiment and to compare investment results.

In addition to the IHSG, the IDX maintains other indices such as LQ45, which tracks a subset of highly liquid stocks. Changes in macroeconomic conditions, regulatory decisions, and global market trends can influence the IHSG, reflecting overall investor expectations for the Indonesian stock market.
