Häälkurdude

Häälkurdude is a Finnish term that translates to "voice folds" or "vocal folds" in English, referring to the structures within the larynx that produce sound during speech. These folds are two bands of muscular tissue that stretch across the voice box. When we speak, breathe, or sing, air from the lungs passes through these folds, causing them to vibrate. This vibration creates the sound waves that we perceive as voice. The tension, length, and thickness of the häälkurdude can be adjusted by muscles in the larynx, allowing for variations in pitch, volume, and tone.
