Huvudsenseområde
Huvudsenseområde is a Swedish term that translates to "main sensory area" or "primary sensory cortex." It refers to the initial cortical region in the brain that receives and processes sensory information from a specific sense. For example, the primary visual cortex in the occipital lobe is the huvudsenseområde for vision, the primary auditory cortex in the temporal lobe is the huvudsenseområde for hearing, and the primary somatosensory cortex in the parietal lobe is the huvudsenseområde for touch, temperature, pain, and pressure.
These primary areas are characterized by their direct connections to sensory relay stations in the thalamus.
While the huvudsenseområde handles the initial processing, sensory information is then further relayed to secondary and
