Humerusfläche
Humerusfläche refers to the articular surface of the humerus, the bone of the upper arm. This surface is crucial for the formation and articulation of the shoulder joint and the elbow joint. Specifically, the head of the humerus forms the glenohumeral joint with the glenoid cavity of the scapula. This articulating surface is covered in hyaline cartilage, which allows for smooth, low-friction movement. Similarly, the distal end of the humerus, featuring the trochlea and capitulum, articulates with the ulna and radius, respectively, at the elbow. These articular areas on the humerus are specifically shaped to accommodate the corresponding surfaces of the scapula, ulna, and radius, enabling the wide range of motion characteristic of the arm. Injuries or degenerative conditions affecting the humerusfläche can significantly impair joint function.
