Hermesianax
Hermesianax was a king of Lydia, a region in ancient Anatolia, from 540 to 519 BCE. He was the son of Alyattes II and succeeded his father upon his death. Hermesianax is known for his military campaigns and his role in the Persian conquest of Lydia. In 546 BCE, he led a Lydian army against the Persians, but was defeated and captured. He was later released and became a Persian vassal. Hermesianax continued to rule Lydia as a Persian client king until his death in 519 BCE. His reign was marked by both resistance and eventual submission to the Persian Empire.
