Halvautomatiska
Halvautomatiska is a Swedish term that translates to "semi-automatic" in English. It is primarily used in the context of firearms, referring to a type of self-loading rifle, pistol, or shotgun. Unlike a fully automatic weapon which continues to fire as long as the trigger is held down, a semi-automatic firearm fires one shot each time the trigger is pulled. After each shot, the mechanism automatically ejects the spent casing and loads a new cartridge into the chamber, preparing the weapon for the next shot.
This self-loading action is achieved through various operating systems, such as gas operation, blowback, or recoil
