Hallócsontok

Hallócsontok, also known as ossicles, are the three small bones of the middle ear. They are the malleus, incus, and stapes. These bones form a chain that transmits sound vibrations from the eardrum (tympanic membrane) to the oval window, which leads to the inner ear. The malleus, or hammer, is attached to the eardrum. It transmits vibrations to the incus, or anvil. The incus then transmits these vibrations to the stapes, or stirrup. The stapes is the smallest bone in the human body and is inserted into the oval window. This chain of bones amplifies the vibrations and converts them into pressure waves in the fluid-filled cochlea of the inner ear, where they are converted into electrical signals that are sent to the brain for interpretation as sound. The proper functioning of the hallócsontok is crucial for hearing. Disruptions to these bones, such as from infection or trauma, can lead to conductive hearing loss.
