Hajtókarhoz

Hajtókarhoz is a Hungarian term that translates to "connecting rod" in English. It refers to a crucial mechanical component found in many types of engines, most notably internal combustion engines. The primary function of a hajtókar is to convert the linear, reciprocating motion of a piston into the rotational motion of a crankshaft.

The hajtókar is typically a rigid, rod-shaped component. One end, known as the small end, is connected to the piston via a wrist pin. The other end, called the big end, is attached to a crankpin on the crankshaft. As the piston moves up and down within the cylinder, the hajtókar acts as a lever arm, transferring this force to the rotating crankshaft. This continuous conversion of motion is fundamental to how engines generate power.

The design and material of a hajtókar are critical for engine performance and longevity. They must be strong enough to withstand the significant forces generated during combustion, yet light enough to minimize inertia. Common materials include steel alloys and, in high-performance engines, even lighter materials like titanium or aluminum. The proper lubrication of the bearing surfaces at both the small and big ends is essential to prevent wear and ensure smooth operation.
