Golmsdorf

Golmsdorf is a village and a former municipality in the district of Altenburger Land, in Thuringia, Germany. It is located approximately 10 kilometers west of Altenburg, the district's capital. The village is situated in the valley of the Pleiße River, which flows through the area.

Historically, Golmsdorf was part of the Duchy of Saxe-Altenburg. The village was first mentioned in a document in 1278. Over the centuries, it has been influenced by various rulers and administrative changes, eventually becoming part of the modern state of Thuringia.
