Geraldus

Geraldus, also known as Gerald of Wales, was a Welsh cleric and chronicler who lived in the 12th century. Born around 1146 in Wales, Geraldus is best known for his work "Descriptio Cambriae," a detailed account of the history, geography, and culture of Wales. This work, completed around 1188, is one of the most important sources of information about medieval Wales and is considered a foundational text in the study of Welsh history.

Geraldus' background is somewhat obscure, but it is believed that he was educated at the cathedral school of St. David's in Wales.
