Gehörgang refers to the external auditory canal, the passage that extends from the auricle to the tympanic membrane. In humans, it is a narrow tube, approximately 2.5 centimeters in length and 0.7 centimeters in diameter. The outer third of the canal is cartilaginous, while the inner two-thirds are bony.
