Gahthsystem is a fictional planetary system featured in the science fiction novel "The Obsidian Star" by K.M. O'Connell. The system is located in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way galaxy. It comprises a central star, Gahth, a main sequence G-type star similar to Earth's Sun, and a complex array of planets and celestial bodies.

The most notable planet within Gahthsystem is Xylos, a tidally locked world with extreme temperature gradients between its permanent day and night sides. Xylos is home to a primitive, silicon-based lifeform known as the Xylosians, who have adapted to the harsh conditions of their environment. Other celestial bodies in the system include several gas giants, a dense asteroid belt, and a ring system around the fourth planet, Gahth IV.

The Gahthsystem serves as a pivotal location in "The Obsidian Star" as it is the target of an interstellar colonization effort by humanity. The novel explores the ethical dilemmas and challenges associated with first contact and resource acquisition in an alien ecosystem.
