GDPárindex

GDPárindex is a hypothetical economic indicator designed to measure the sustainable development and well-being of a nation, going beyond traditional Gross Domestic Product (GDP) metrics. Unlike GDP, which solely focuses on the monetary value of goods and services produced, GDPárindex aims to incorporate a broader range of factors critical for long-term societal progress.

The "ár" in GDPárindex is often understood to represent elements such as environmental quality, social equity, and resource depletion. Proponents suggest that a true measure of a nation's prosperity should account for the costs of environmental degradation, the distribution of wealth, and the preservation of natural capital for future generations. This index would theoretically adjust GDP downwards to reflect negative externalities and upwards to account for positive social and environmental contributions that are not captured by market transactions.
