Forearmrotációt

Forearmrotációt refers to the rotational movements of the forearm. These movements are essential for a wide range of everyday activities, from grasping objects to performing complex manual tasks. There are two primary types of forearm rotation: pronation and supination.

Pronation is the inward rotation of the forearm that causes the palm to face downwards or backwards. This motion is achieved by the pronator teres and pronator quadratus muscles. It is utilized when turning a doorknob, using a screwdriver, or when placing your palm flat on a table.

Supination is the outward rotation of the forearm that causes the palm to face upwards or forwards. This motion is primarily driven by the supinator muscle and the biceps brachii muscle. Examples of supination include turning a key in a lock, holding a bowl of soup, or performing a handshake.

These movements occur at the radioulnar joints, specifically the proximal and distal radioulnar joints, where the radius and ulna bones articulate. The intricate interplay between these bones, muscles, and ligaments allows for the smooth and controlled rotation of the forearm, enabling precise manipulation of the hand and wrist. Injuries or conditions affecting these joints or muscles can significantly impair forearm rotation, impacting daily function.
