Fogong

Fogong is a small cave site located in the Jingxi County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. The site was discovered in 1995 and has since become a significant archaeological find, shedding light on the prehistoric cultures of the region.

Excavations at Fogong have revealed the remains of a megalithic tomb complex, dating back to the Northern Han Dynasty (907-1125 AD). The site measures approximately 15 meters in length and 6 meters in width, with stone slabs used as the foundation and walls of the tomb. Unlike other megalithic tombs in the region, Fogong features a unique design, with both circular and rectangular stone platforms found within its structure.

The discovery of artifacts at Fogong provides valuable insights into the culture and rituals of the people who built this tomb complex. Archaeologists have recovered numerous relics, including ceramics, metallic artifacts, and even a small stone sarcophagus found within the tomb.
