Flóruðu

Flóruðu is a term used in Icelandic to describe a phenomenon where the landscape appears to be covered in a thick layer of white, resembling snow. This effect is primarily caused by the blooming of certain plants, particularly the Arctic poppy (Papaver radicatum), which is native to Iceland. The Arctic poppy produces a white, cotton-like substance that covers the ground, giving the illusion of a snow-covered landscape even when it is not snowing.
