Fluxdependent
Fluxdependent is an adjective used in physics, chemistry, biology, and related fields to describe systems in which a quantity’s transfer rate (the flux) directly governs another variable or process. Flux denotes the amount of something crossing a surface, boundary, or interface per unit time, such as electric or magnetic flux, radiant flux, mass or charge flux, or metabolite flux in biochemical networks. A fluxdependent process responds to changes in this transfer rate; examples include induced electromotive force that depends on the rate of change of magnetic flux (Faraday’s law), and photocurrent set by photon flux.
