Fluoroskopiegeräte are medical imaging devices that produce real-time X-ray images, allowing physicians to visualize internal structures and observe their movement. This technology uses a continuous X-ray beam to create a dynamic visual display, unlike conventional radiography which captures static images.

The core components of a fluoroscopy unit include an X-ray tube, an image intensifier or flat-panel detector, and a video display. The X-ray beam passes through the patient, and the transmitted radiation is captured by the image intensifier, which converts the X-rays into visible light, or by a digital detector. This signal is then processed and displayed on a monitor, enabling the clinician to see the internal anatomy in motion.

Fluoroscopy is widely used in various medical specialties. It is invaluable for guiding interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, and biopsy. It also plays a crucial role in diagnosing gastrointestinal disorders, assessing bone and joint movement, and evaluating the function of organs like the heart and lungs.
