Floridita

La Floridita is a historic cocktail bar and restaurant in Havana, Cuba. Located in Old Havana, it is best known for its daiquiri and as a longtime haunt of Ernest Hemingway.

The venue began in the 19th century and later adopted the name La Floridita. In the early 20th century it achieved international fame under Constantino Ribalaigua Vert, a renowned bartender who refined the bar’s cocktails and popularized the daiquiri, creating a range of variants.

The Floridita is widely described as the cradle of the daiquiri. The interior retains period decor, including a long marble counter, and the bar displays memorabilia related to Hemingway, who frequented the establishment during his Havana years.

Today it remains a working bar and restaurant and a major tourist attraction in Havana. It continues to serve daiquiris and other cocktails, alongside Cuban dishes, reflecting the city’s historic cocktail culture.
