Floreffe
Floreffe is a municipality located in the province of Namur, Wallonia, Belgium. It lies on the Sambre river, approximately 10 kilometers west of the city of Namur. The municipality is composed of several distinct sections, including Floreffe itself, Floriffoux, and Soy. Historically, Floreffe is perhaps best known for its Abbey of Floreffe, a former Premonstratensian monastery founded in the early 12th century. The abbey, a significant example of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, played a crucial role in the region's religious and economic development for centuries.
