Flokülasyon
Flokülasyon, also spelled as flocculation, is a process used in water treatment and wastewater treatment to aggregate fine suspended particles into larger, more easily removable flocs. This process is crucial for improving water clarity and removing impurities. Flocculation involves the addition of a coagulant, typically aluminum sulfate or ferric chloride, to the water. The coagulant neutralizes the charge on the suspended particles, allowing them to clump together. This is followed by the addition of a flocculant, which helps to bind the particles into larger flocs. The flocs are then separated from the water through processes such as sedimentation or filtration. Flocculation is an essential step in water treatment as it enhances the efficiency of subsequent treatment processes and ensures the production of clean, safe drinking water.
