Fahrenheitlämpötiloja

Fahrenheitlämpötiloja refers to the temperature scale that uses degrees Fahrenheit (°F). This scale was developed by German physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit in 1724. It is primarily used in the United States, its territories, and a few other countries like the Bahamas, Belize, and the Cayman Islands.

The Fahrenheit scale sets the freezing point of water at 32°F and the boiling point of water at 212°F at standard atmospheric pressure. This differs from the Celsius scale, where the freezing point of water is 0°C and the boiling point is 100°C. The development of the Fahrenheit scale predates the Celsius scale, which was introduced by Anders Celsius in 1742.

The conversion formula between Fahrenheit and Celsius is a common point of reference. To convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit, one multiplies the Celsius temperature by 9/5 and then adds 32. Conversely, to convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius, one subtracts 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature and then multiplies the result by 5/9. For example, 32°F is equivalent to 0°C, and 212°F is equivalent to 100°C. Body temperature is often cited as around 98.6°F (37°C). While widely used in some regions, the Fahrenheit scale is less common globally compared to the Celsius scale, which is the standard in most countries and scientific contexts.
