Evolutionsökologie, also known as evolutionary ecology, is a scientific discipline that bridges the fields of evolutionary biology and ecology. It investigates how ecological processes, such as competition, predation, and disease, influence evolutionary change and, conversely, how evolutionary processes shape ecological interactions and community structure. The core idea is that organisms evolve in response to their environments, and these environments are themselves shaped by the interactions between organisms.
