Erotella
Erotella is a genus of bacteria from the family Enterobacteriaceae, which is part of the broader group Gammaproteobacteria. These bacteria are typically found in soil and water environments, and are known for their ability to degrade various organic compounds, including aromatic compounds. Erotella species are Gram-negative, rod-shaped, and motile, with a single polar flagellum. They are aerobic and have a metabolic type of respiration, using oxygen as the final electron acceptor in their electron transport chains.
The genus Erotella was first described in 1989, with the type species being Erotella marina. Since then,
