Erityiskudokset

Erityiskudokset, a Finnish term, translates to "specialized tissues" or "specific tissues" in English. In biology and medicine, it refers to tissues within an organism that have undergone differentiation to perform a particular function. These tissues are distinct from the more general or undifferentiated tissues, such as basic connective or epithelial tissues, and are characterized by their unique cellular structure, molecular composition, and physiological capabilities.

Examples of erityiskudokset include nervous tissue, which is specialized for transmitting electrical and chemical signals, and muscle tissue, adapted for contraction and movement.
