Energiasäästuvõimalused

Energiasäästuvalgusti is an Estonian term that translates to energy-saving lamp. These lamps are designed to consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs while providing a comparable amount of light. The primary technology behind most energiasäästuvalgustid is compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) technology. CFLs work by passing an electric current through a tube filled with argon gas and a small amount of mercury vapor. This creates invisible ultraviolet light that excites a fluorescent coating on the inside of the tube, causing it to emit visible light.

Compared to incandescent bulbs, which lose a large portion of their energy as heat, energiasäästuvalgustid are much more efficient. This increased efficiency leads to lower electricity bills for consumers and a reduced demand on power generation, which can have positive environmental implications by lowering greenhouse gas emissions. While CFLs were once the dominant form of energy-saving lighting, they are gradually being replaced by even more efficient light-emitting diode (LED) technology, which also falls under the broad category of energy-saving lighting solutions. The transition to these advanced lighting technologies is a key aspect of promoting energy conservation in households and businesses.
