Endüstridir

Endüstridir is a Turkish predicative form meaning “it is an industry.” It uses the noun endüstri, meaning industry, followed by the third-person singular copula -dir. The combination endüstridir literally states that the subject in question belongs to or should be classified as an industry. In Turkish, -dir is one of the copular endings that mark assertion or identity, with the other forms of the same suffix (-dır, -dur, -dür) chosen by vowel harmony.

Etymology and form. Endüstri, the Turkish word for industry, is a loanword derived from French industrie and ultimately from Latin industria. The copular suffix -dir is the present, indicative form used with third-person singular subjects.
